HAGIA SOPHIA PUBLIC SCHOOL: A SCHOOL WHERE LIFE IS MOULDED TO ALL ITS PERFECTION
Hagia Sophia Public School is nestled in a serene and lush- green environment, east of Kochi and west of Muvattupuzha. The School was founded on 3rd September, 2004 by H.G. Dr. Thomas Mar Athanasius Metropolitan and on 6th June 2005, it began its journey with the mission 'Enlightenment, Enhancement and Empowerment' . It sprouted to life by becoming a senior secondary school in 2013, spreading its massive vision of 'Liberation through Education' far and wide.
The aim of the School is to provide students with authentic learning opportunities and ignite their curiosity to make the successful learners. To supplement this, the physical and mental well being of students is ensured through a plethora of co curricualr and outdoor activities.
The lofty thinking and ceaseless effort of the Management and Executive Committee aids the school in becoming an excellent platform for students to showcase their originality in academics and co curricular activities thus making it a School of Legacy.
Admission procedure:
Admission to Kindergarten and class I begins every year in August and the registration can be done earlier by paying the specified registration fee. Admission to Class XI begins after the class X results are published. Admission to the other classes are offered only if vacancies exist and at the discretion of the Principal.
Faculty:
The school is blessed with highly qualified, experienced and dedicated teachers who strive to train students to become successful learners and compassionate human beings. We are also assisted by a team of administrative, auxiliary, supporting and operational staff.
Infrastructure:
The facilities in the school building include well equipped class rooms, well established library with varied collections, separate computer laboratories for Primary and Higher Secondary sections, Interactive class rooms, State of the Art Science and Mathematics laboratories, Language Lab, Activity Room, a spacious Auditorium and so on. A large expansive playground is available on the campus to accommodate a large variety of games and sports activities with specially trained teachers to groom the students.
Languages and other courses:
The Primary medium of instruction is English. Malayalam and Hindi are offered as secondary languages. German is offered as foreign language.
Library:
The School gives great importance to sensible reading and maintains excellent atmosphere for students to enhance their reading capabilities. The school library has separate wings for reference section as well as reading section. It has a variety of periodicals and journals published both nationally and internationally. Newspapers and magazines in Malayalam and English are available for the students to read daily.
Playground & Physical Education:
The school has a wide- spread playground. It encourages students to play various games and remain active. Special training is provided for throw-ball, football, cricket, sprinting and so on.

The school has its own conveyances to places like, Muvattupuzha, Mannathoor, Kolenchery, Puthencruz, Thiruvankulam, Mulanthuruthy, Thripunithura, Chottanikkara, Thiruvaniyoor, Pallikkara, Kakkanadu etc.
Assessments and Evaluation:
Evaluation of performance of a child is done as per the norms of the CBSE and the grades are communicated to the parents through the achievement record at the end of every term.
Value Education & Counselling:
Value Education is part of the school curriculum. The school has appointed professional counsellors and special educator to ensure the balanced development of the child.
Assembly, Clubs & Houses:
Mornings in Hagia begin with a refreshing thirty minute assembly on every alternate day, starting from Monday, where students of each class are given a chance to perform their talents and skills. Students are divided into 4 houses – Gandhi, Jawahar, Subhash and Tagore for encouraging healthy and meaningful participation in various competitions. The house system enables them to work together as a community and maintain healthy inter-personal relationships. Students are allowed to opt clubs of their choice, from a variety of clubs such as Eco Club, Anti-Narcotics Club, Cyber Club and so on.
Co-Scholastic Activities:
The school gives emphasis to co-scholastic activities such as Self Development Programmes, Cultural Programmes and Social Service activities. The school has appointed specially trained teachers for Craft, Dance, Drawing, Painting, Vocal and Instrumental Music. Special coaching sessions for self- defence and Yoga are provided to equip the students face the challenges in their life. Above all, the morning assembly conducted thrice in a week helps the children nurture their own aesthetic, literary ad creative skills.
